School Curriculum Overview
Christ the King provides learning from BCE Religious Education and P-10 Australian Curriculum in the following areas:

| All 5 Arts subjects are taught in each band - Prep, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 Arts subjects are taught in nominated year levels in each band. However, some external companies are involved in teaching particular arts subjects such as Dance.

Technologies
| Digital Technologies and Design Technologies are taught in each band P-2, 3-4, 5-6 Both Technologies subjects are taught in nominated year levels in a band.

Languages
| Italian is taught from Prep-6 by a specialist teacher.

Christ the King’s organisation of the curriculum reflects ACARA’s emphasis on the priority development of literacy and numeracy foundations through English and Mathematics and across the curriculum. This is continued in middle and upper primary while also emphasising a broader education through planning across all curriculum areas. Our education program:
- has regard to the ages, abilities, aptitudes and development of the school’s students; and
- promotes continuity in the learning experiences of the students; and
- provides a breadth, depth and balance of learning appropriate to students’ phases of development and across an appropriate range of learning areas; and
- is responsive to the needs of the students; and
- is consistent with the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration. [Regulation s.9(1)]

The Australian Curriculum content for any learning area should be able to be taught within the indicative time allocation that ACARA set for its curriculum writers (outlined below).
